Morningstar’s Advisor Workstation is built to empower great advice by offering you the information and tools you need to give holistic advice to your clients. With increasing investor demand to leverage alternative investments, there’s a need to see them and their impact on portfolios more clearly than ever.
 
Cerulli predicts that advisors will allocate 17.5% to alternatives in the next two years. While these estimates may seem ambitious, they reflect the growing demand for alternatives. Moreover, the current market environment presents an ideal opportunity to consider the potential benefits of alts.

Morningstar is proud to present to our customers two new resources for leveraging alternative investments: Alternatives Investment Universe, powered by iCapital, and the Structured Products Universe, powered by Luma.

 

Alternatives Investment Universe*

We're excited to deliver iCapital’s comprehensive alternative investment data, tools, and research through Advisor Workstation’s new Alternatives Investment Universe. Advisors can view the expansive iCapital Marketplace menu of funds and related information, and seamlessly connect to the iCapital platform to access additional features including analytics, diligence, and educational materials.

 

Coming in 2024, we look to have a deeper and more robust integration with iCapital. Look out for those updates in the new year!

Structured Products Universe**

Simplify your analysis with the Morningstar Portfolio Risk Score, now available in the structured product Research Universe. Powered by Luma’s comprehensive structured product data, this tool is designed to evaluate the risk and diversification of investment portfolios, so you can align a portfolio's risk with an investor's risk profile.
